How To Show

Can't decide whether your Saddlebred should be shown American or English? Read on ...

WHY SHOW?

The Saddlebred is the world's best "Show Horse" who loves nothing better than showing off in front of a crowd. The more cheers he gets, the better he loves it! Showing is also an ideal way in which to showcase the breed to the uninitiated and helps to draw new members and owners into the Association. In addition, by showing your Saddlebred (in any division) he or she is earning points towards their SASH Awards.

WHAT TO SHOW

There are a number of different divisions you can show your Saddlebred in: In Hand, Saddle Seat (both 3 and 5-gaited), Hunter and Western as well as all the traditional classes you would see at your usual shows, plus endurance, dressage, driving etc.

If you've decided to show "American" fashion, then these two guides will help you - one explains the differences between Country Pleasure, Pleasure and Park and the other explains how to braid your Saddlebred's mane and wrap his tail.

There is also a guide for judges on the American Saddlebred Horse and other mainstream "Foreign Breeds" which is within our (USA-UK) Show Rules.

Forms below for both Saddlebreds & Non-Saddlebreds and you don't even need to be a member to take part (although there are great savings to be made if you are).
